SO WHAT IS TURNING POINT?
Turning Point is a Christian Youth Festival for young people aged 11-18 held at the Ganaway Activity Centre, Millisle. It is organised by a dedicated team of youth leaders and is generously supported by a number of agencies, including: The Boys' Brigade, Christian Aid, Tearfund, Open Doors, Scripture Union, Crown Jesus Ministries, UCB, CEF, The Bible Society, Ulster Rugby and Blitz Milkshakes.
Popular features such as The BackBeat Café, The Live Lounge (hosting events such as SingStar Superstar, The Arcade, the Big Quiz and a Dance-mat Challenge), Cinema, Open Doors' Venue, Prayer Pod and The Trading Post (which offers exclusive Turning Point merchandise and bookstall) will all return in 2012. By popular demand, the Pamper Parlour will be back and has been extended! This year we will also be welcoming back Heart Ablaze as our house worship band.
The outdoor activities at Ganaway have all been reserved for those attending Turning Point including the brand new caving complex! You can also have a go at the high ropes, raft building and the climbing tower/zip line. As well as these, our usual football, tag rugby, hockey, volleyball, cricket , and crazy golf will also be running in the field. Our programme is designed by young people on our Management Team and aims to allow young people to decide which activities they would like to do whenever they want to do it - they have maximum control over the shape of their weekend. The one element of our programme where we seek everyone's participation is our worship sessions. This year Mitch from Crown Jesus Ministries will be sharing with us during worship and exploring what we can learn from the Olympics...is there really more than gold?.
Our indoor accommodation is usually snapped up very quickly, so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment. If you cannot get booked inside, your group can join other Festival goers in our campsite. Ganaway can also provide you with pre-booked tented accommodation. This can be booked with Paul in BB House. Remember, Turning Point is open to all youth groups (age 11-18) so why not share this experience with the youth organisations in your church. To obtain a booking pack and join us for what we confidently forecast to be our biggest and best event ever, please contact us
